Welcome to the forum Treechaser. 19! Suddenly I feel VERY old. |5cups|

19 is a great time to start because hopefully you can learn all those stories that are sometimes so important to flesh out a family life. (My grandmother told me stories that she has never told her daughters.) All the best! Everyone here is very helpful.

Jane :)

Lucky you!
You have the wonderful advantage, that many of us missed, the opportunity to speak to, and listen to, members of your family from earlier generations. They are all treasures, some more than others, but all valuable.
For so many of us, our interest in family came to us after most our older family members were no longer around.
Enjoy a lifelong interest and have fun doing it.:D

Emma from Manchester.

I have heaps of ancestors from Manchester and Warrington. I'll be very interested to see your surnames (when you post them on the surname forum.)

Welcome to the forum. I wish you all the success with your family tree and your history degree. Does not matter how young you are. I dragged my kids to the record offices as soon as they were allowed in. Each has helped in their own way and although not quite bitten by the bug, are very competitive in looking things up and making finds. I still hear from them 'why cant we have an exotic or more interesting family' but I keep telling them I have them!
They have to agree we have linked up with some lovely people over the years.
Good Luck
ELMA
