Hi Folks,

This is a request on behalf of someone else, they are seeking a marriage between John Bishop and Edith Meeson, most likely that the marriage took place in West Bromwich in or soon after 1911.

These people had a daughter called Florence in 1917, the birth was registered in West Bromwich.

In 1901 census Edith does not seem to exist, I am not sure about John.

John Bishop's occupation in 1917 was given as Carter.

Here's hoping.

On FreeBMD there is a marriage registered in Birmingham QSept 1917 vol 6d p362 between Albert BISHOP to Winifred MEESON. Could these be alternative names for your John and Edith, eg first names? Or is it coincidence?

In addition to Florence's birth, there are two more registered, with the above surnames, in Birmingham in 1921 and 1924. I'll not give the first names in case these folk are still alive.

FreeBMD again:

Birth: Edith Winifred MEESON QJune 1896 Toxteth Park vol 8b p177

There are quite a few Albert John or John Albert Bishop (or plain Albert or John) births registered around England. I did find an Albert John Bishop, Birmingham QDec 1884 vol 6d p 122.

Have a look yourself and see what you think.
