Hi there,
My research on this elusive family continues and despite the fact that I am constantly driven to making teeth marks on my desk I will not give in!
Could some kind soul with access to the 1861 census, search for the following people
Squire Wood (abt 42) May be the Head
Elizabeth Wood (abt 40) Squire's wife
Ellen Wood (abt 2) Squire's Chn
Squire C Wood (abt 4) " "
Wright Wood (about 15) " "
There may be other sibling's including a William
Squire's father Samuel Wood or his mother may also be present.
In 1871 and 1881 they lived in John St, Gee Cross, but Squire was from Mottram and Elizabeth from Dukinfield.
All help appreciated as we dismantle the wall
Thanks in Anticipation
Mike Bannister

Thank you very much, Not only have I now got the woods, but guess what the Inlaws, live next door, I only had Susannah living with the Woods in 1881, my first contact with them, since their marriage in 1815 and the birth of Elizabeth (who married Squire in 1851) and a sister Ann. I will now go back to 1851 and see what shows up. Amazing How One thing leads to Another!!!
Polyfilla and paint for the desk I think, and ready myself for the next round.

THAnks Again
