Hi

My fathers family were Perrys from Dowlish Wake. His father Tom and grandfather Thomas Perry were born there. Does anyone have any info on this famiy please? Are you related? They came to Wales early 20th C to work in coal mines.

I have finally proved that the wife's family goes back to Jane PERRY marrying George HARRIS on 20 Nov 1803 in the parish of Dowlish Wake, in the presence of George PERRY and Mary Russell. Possible line from Jane is John 1751, William 1726, John 1702 to John 1673.
Jane and George had the following children as per Ilminster P.R.s
Amelia Harris 1812 buried 6 Sep 1812 infant.
Joseph Harris bapt.12 Feb 1815 son of George and Jane Harris coachman.
Thomas Harris bapt.25 Nov 1821 son of George and Jane Harris guard of coach.
Ann Harris bapt. 17 Sep 1826 dau. of Goeorge and Jane Harris labourer.

Our interest is with Joseph Harris who joined the marines in 1833 at Taunton and died as a Master at Arms on board ship 25 Oct 1862.
Would like to make contact with others following either the Perry or the Harris line, Dawn looks to be of the same line as she lists John 1673 married to Jane Keeper 1676.
Tom.

My line from John Perry 1673 splits at John 1751. I come down his brother George 1768 line.
Can't seem to get any further back than John Perry and Jane Keeper.

Hello Dawn, Sorry have only just found your message. I thought one would be alerted to a new message. I am still chasing the Harris family, no trace of them in 1841/51 census... found two burials on Find my Past... George buried 9 Apr 1859 and Jane 23 Sep 1856 both at Ilminster so I will look further into these.
Regards,
Tom.

Hi everyone
My apologies for not replying sooner to postings but I've been tied up in issues other than family history. I'm currently updating the information I have on all my families and will reply in more detail when I have more information. Please be patient with me for a little longer!
Regards
Margaret

Hi

I am researching a tree for a friend of mine

I have a link to Thomas PERRY and Ann Pinney GOSNEY via their son William PERRY b1848

He moved to Sheffield 1881-1888 as an Overlooker for Steam Hair Looms

Does anyone have have any information that would help me take the Perry line further back than Thomas?

It would be good to somehow link them into the Perrys of Dowlish Wake

Thanks
Paul
