Is there a kind soul that could do a look up for me in Bridport Cemetery, Bothenhampton, Dorset please? I have at least 3 people of the same family probably buried there. There is no contact information for Bridport Cemetery records online. All of the burials took place from 1933 to 1953.

I have emailed Dorset RO for information to see if they maintain the records.

the dorset opc website has a contact to an MI database for most of the county, which as proved useful in the past. Nobody dealing with Bridport records at present but Bothenhampton has a volunteer who may be able to help you. Google dorset opc.

good hunting

Thanks maryanne :) I looked at OPC yesterday but my lot fall just inside/outside of the years they have transcribed. I emailed Dorset History Centre and hopefully they will advise me in a timely manner, if not I will email the Dorset Record office for the cemetery information at Bothenhampton.

Cheers for replying |hug|

I shall be in Bridport on the 29th Dec visiting family, let me have the details and I'll go and have a look for you

I presume you are refering to the main Cemetery in Bridport not at the old church in Bothenhampton which I'm not sure was even in use during that period

Stickymone :)

Wonderbar, Stickymone! |hug|

They are as follows:
Joseph M. Stuart 1845-1933 1Q, Bridport
Alice Catherine Stuart 1878-1937 4Q, Bridport
Eda Rosaline Stuart 1871-1953 4Q, Bridport

They may or may not have MI's but there should at least be a record of plot numbers. Eda lived at "Greystones" Bothenhampton. Bothenhampton cemetery didn't open until 1957 if my recollection is right. There are 3 more but they are slim to none to being buried there. Annie, Albert Hugh and Percy Robert Stuart. They too died between 1933 and 1953 but I am sure are buried elsewhere.

Thank you and bless you for taking the time out from your holiday schedule to go check it out. |hug|
