A week or so ago I came across the following link at http://genforum.genealogy.com/coker/ posted by Roy and Ann Coker in 1999 (before I was researching). I have seen JP's link to Canada Collections database - but they are upgrading this weekend so I cannot look there just now.
The message from Roy and Ann was:-
"We are decendents of Henry Coker(1832) and his wife Maria(1833) from Beaconsfield, Buck. England.
His son Walter Coker (1860)and his wife Eliza Ann Coker (1860) arrived in Canada in 1887. Their son Walter Scott Coker (1887) is Roy's father. Walter Scott Coker had 14 children with 12 still living. Apparently, one of Walter Scott's brother's (George) went to Chicago and was involved with an all girl's band but family never could find him."

I know Henry Coker and Maria Green, and their son Walter. In fact they had a number of other children with Canada associations
William Coker bn1850 was in Toronto between 1874 and 1877 and had 2 children there (but returned by 1881)
Harry/George Coker bn1854 was also in Toronto between 1874 and 1877 and had 2 children there and also returned by 1881
Harriet Coker bn 1859 married Frederick Harris in 1876. They had 2 children, Polly bn1878 (MAry Ann?) and Annie bn 1880 but the family disappear from UK records after 1881 - I wonder if they went out to Canada with Walter.

Although this part of the family originated in Bucks (Buckinghamshire), by the 1880s they were mostly in the Islington area of London.

If anyone knows the whereabout of any of this family I would love to hear from them - it is tantalising that I pick up such an old link of great interest to me. I am not descended from Henry but from his grandfather.

Kind regards

Graham

Hi,

I was born and raised in Toronto and saw your note on the Coker family.

You can look up the 1880 Canadian census on the Church of the Latter Day Saints web-site. That may help.

Also try the web-site National Archives of Canada. Some information may be there.

Do you know what part of Toronto they lived.

Thanks to Mary and Victoria,

I have now found Walter Scott Coker in 1901 - but adopted into the family of John Crockford in
Subdistrict: Oakley, ONTARIO (North/Nord), ONTARIO District Number: 97

That he was adopted suggests that both his parents may have died so there will be more work needed to track them down - and any siblings

It would still be good to find Roy and Ann Coker or members of their families.

Thanks & regards

Graham
