Hi Folks

I am looking for early images of Crowmarsh Gifford, Newnham Murren, Mongwell and North Stoke surrounding areas as my Goodey relatives lived here between 1730 or earlier and 1830, to give me a better idea of what the area would have looked like at the time.

I am also interested in any written history of the area during this time period to help me understand what life would have been like for farm workers at the time.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Regards

Richard

Use a search engine to look for 'viewfinder.english.heritage.org.uk' and then type in Wallingford in the site search engine.

Or try the Francis Frith collection (again turns up with a search engine).

Or try the Heritage Search (http://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/wps/portal/publicsite/doitonline/finditonline/heritage)via the Oxfordshire Local Studies web-site

I always look on ebay for things like this. There are always books on there about anywhere.
