John Edward Ball - Born May 25, 1856

While going through some B, M & D certificates, I came across one that was ordered almost 10 years ago. Why it was ordered or by whom, I have no idea.

The details are on a birth certificate - as follows:
Registration District Truro sub District St. Just County Cornwall

Date and name are as per header

Parents John Ball & Elizabeth Markwell
Father's Occupation Farm Labourer

The registrant was the Mother who signed and the address appears to be Greer or Green, Veryan

Any ideas on where he might belong are welcome as I can't find a nesting point for him

Not sure what you are after here Colin, but they are easy to find on the 1861 census, living in Philleigh parish (the Green - as per your post).

There are two St Justs in Cornwall (at least) - St Just in Penwith, which is down in the neck of the woods where your family seem to come from (i.e Penzance area); the other is St Just in Roseland, which is on the Roseland peninsula, across the River Fal.

This family are in the Roseland :)

Are you trying to follow the Ball family from Veryan area back? Or was there some suspicion that the St Just mentioned was down Penzance way?

Edit: - there are two other children with the family on the 1861 census, an Elizabeth aged 7 and a Frederick aged 2

After following through on your response, Mark, and in reviewing info. on A. I'm reasonably satisfied that there is no connection whatsoever to my line.

I think I'll leave the certificate and my research notes in a 'bottom' drawer until someone responds and wants the info.

Just a correction on the maiden name of the mother - it is NANKIWELL
