Laura Winifred Jones was my mothers maiden name, she was born in 1900 at Sheppey Kent. I am trying to find any details about her ancesters, her farthers name was Samuel Joseph Jones a shipwrigh possibly born in Barry S/Wales. Her mothers name I do not know,her sisters names were Hilda and
Myrtle Jones.If anyone can help with any snippet of information I would be most grateful

I think I may have found them in the 1901 census, but Laura is listed as 5 years old. Not that ages are cast iron in the censuses!

Father Samuel, Head, 48, Shipwright, born Pembroke Dock, Wales
Mother Eliza, wife, 36, born Sheerness
Daughter Irene, 12, born Malta!
Son Thomas, 10, born Sheerness
Son Edwin, 8, born Sheerness
then comes Laura, 5, born Sheerness
Daugher, looks like Sry!, 4, born Sheerness
Daughter Myrtle, 1, born Sheerness

All living at 22 Alexandra Road, Sheerness.

Thank you Vanessa just what I wanted ,yes I think my mother was older than her marriage cert says. Sry! I believe was my aunt Hilda. and 22 Alexandra Road was a Sweet shop etc later owned my aunt Myrtle I stayed there at times during and after the war. a very big thank you once again.
