|wave|I have a photocopy of a birthday book belonging to my GGM Sarah Ann Ravenscroft(nee Smith).I have worked out quite a few relationships. But two elude and intrigue me.
1 Geoffrey Joseph Smith b.21/09/1921 d.06/02/1944 killed while flying in South Africa.
2 Samuel L Smith b.13/10/1883 d.20/05/1948.
The family lived in and around Short Heath,Lane Head,Willenhall area of Staffordshire.
Any ideas of how I can find out more?
Thank you.:)

Hello, On FMP, I found two Samuel Smiths living in Willenhall in 1891.
SMITH, Samuel 1883 8 M Wolverhampton Staffordshire
SMITH, Samuel 1884 7 M Wolverhampton Staffordshire
However, as I don't have a subscription, I am unable to view the transcript.
Hope this could help as a starting point.

Looking for a birth registration of a Geoffrey J SMITH in the Sep qtr 1921 with a Staffordshire link, I came up with a birth registration in Sep 1921 at Walsall reg district, vol 6b, page 1449, mother's maiden name ROBINSON. Looking then for a marriage registration, again with a Staffordshire link around that time, I found a marriage registration in Walsall reg district in the September qtr 1911 of a Samuel L SMITH and one of the other names on the page is that of an Alice ROBINSON - could the two names in the Birthday Book be father and son?? There is also a birth registration in the Dec qtr 1883 at Walsall reg district of a Samuel SMITH. Any good?
