Hello my query is about Richard Massey born about 1871
I found a birth registration Reg Stone, September 1871 6b page 37
(i have not ordered this certificate yet)

I have his death certificate which gives date of death: 21 February 1931Trent House, Stone, Staffordshire aged 60yrs. The informant was the occupier.

I also have his marriage certificate dated 1912 he is aged 42yrs, his father is listed as George Massey occupation Labourer.

I think this might be Richard Massey in the following census:

England Census 1911 aged 40yrs born 1871 Cold Norton Staffordshire occupation is Labourer on Farm.
England Census 1901 aged 30yrs born 1871 Yarnfield, Staffordshire occupation is Labourer Farm.
England Census 1891 aged 19yrs born 1872 Farm Servant, Stone, Staffordshire occupation is Farm Servant.

I can not locate him in 1881 or 1871 or his father. I am searching for both them, can someone please help.

:)

hi,

maybe this is his father in 1871

George Massey Head 46 abt 1825 Male Whitgreave Staffordshire
Hannah Massey Wife 43 abt 1828 Female ditto Staffordshire
Hannah Massey Daughter 12 abt 1859 Female ditto Staffordshire
John Massey Son 10 abt 1861 Male ditto Staffordshire
William Massey Son 8 abt 1863 Male ditto Staffordshire
Emily Massey Daughter 6 abt 1865 Female ditto Staffordshire
Mary Massey Daughter 4 abt 1867 Female ditto Staffordshire
Sarah Massey Daughter 1 abt 1870 Female ditto Staffordshire

Emily is in Yarnfield on the 1881 census and whitgreave is close to yarnfield and stone.

There are also possibilities for the children on staffordshirebmd registered in Eccleshall / Stafford district.

hope this is them

I Can not locate any of this family in the 1861 census? and I am having even more trouble finding them in 1881.

the youngest daughter is listed as Sarah aged 1yrs born 1870 I have richard being born 1870 but I am unable to locate him either in 1881.

There is a registered birth for richard massey as I said in my previous post, Ithink I might order this and see if the father is george, and then go for there.

England Census 1881: Hannah Massey is now Hannah Wise she married a Alfred Wise. Hannah is aged 21yrs occupation is servant. Her sister Mary Ann Massey is also a servant aged 14yrs in the same house.

in 1861
Goerge, Hannah, and children George, Joel, Hannah and John appear to be in Little Bridgeford - again not far away from Yarnfield and Stone - George seems to indicate he was born in Wetley Rocks and Hannah in what looks like Birtler Bank and the children in Hanley and Bridgeford.

They are seemngly transcribed correctly in ancestry - I just typed - George Massey spouse Hannah and put George's DOB as 1825 +/- 5 years.
