Hello everyone. I'm looking for the parents and siblings of Leah Boulton born around 1795 in Burslem. She married Thomas Hulme at St Johns Burslem in Sept 1818, had 9 children and died Q3 1863 in Burslem (on reflection that seems a rather short synopsis of a life!). I can find several Boulton families which may fit the bill, but Leah remains elusive.
Any ideas in advance of a visit to the Staffordshire Archives would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

Have you tried BOLTON as well?
It is also worth looking at any Leah that may have been christened prior to her mother marrying a BOULTON.
You could check out any wills left by these families to see if any mention Leah.

Hello Christine - on IGI the marriage name is registered as 'Leah Bolton', which I worked on for a while to no avail. I then got the only birth certificate available for one of her nine children, Betsy (all but one birth pre-1837) and the mother's maiden name is 'Leah Boulton'. It looks like she could write, so I've got a bit of faith in the spelling there! I've also since found one of her grand daughters as 'Leah Boulton Hulme'. The frustrating thing is there's at least five completely possible Boulton families in Burslem, but no obvious connection. I take your point about the possibility of no father though ... Thanks for the help! :)
