Are teachers included in district directories?

If you mean the street directories as sold by The Parish Chest (http://www.parishchest.com/shop/index.php?cmd=listdepts&cat=D1683) or appear in the historical directories web-site; it depends on who, when and where.

In earlier directories you will find quite a few people who ran private acadamies and schools - but may not find teachers recorded (although I have seen some for rural parishes where the schoolmaster's name is included). Later on you may see entries in which they are recorded as private residents.
