Marriage Index Lookup - REED /Piddinghoe

Hello - I'm searching for my REED ancestors from Piddinghoe, SSX (in the South Downs). Could someone please do a lookup of the Marriage Index for:

Abt. 1787 (15 Oct 1787 per IGI) at Piddinghoe, SSX
William READ or REED or REID (I've seen all 3 spellings)
married Philadelphia GEERING or GEARING of Piddinghoe.

I'm trying to find out the village William READ came from. Does the Marriage Index provide any residence info for the groom, or any other clues?

Hi Gambrill,

It says:
Extract from the Sussex Marriage Index:
Place: Piddinghoe, East Sussex, Date: 15 Oct 1787:
Subject: William READ, bach
Spouse: Philadelphia GEERING, sp botp

The index shows him as a bachelor and the botp means both of this parish. However that just means where he currently was residing rather than the parish he was born in.
