The other day I was watching an old British Movie - a costume drama set in the mid 1700s and I suddenly realised how this complimented my family research and vice versa. It is one thing to read about the prevailing conditions while we are doing our research, but it is another to see the activities of people of the eras of our gggrandparents being re-enacted before our eyes. I know there is a certain amount of liberty taken, but most of the conditions and costumes are as authentic as it is possible for them to be and it helped to bring my ancesors to life.
