Hi all,
I was wondering if there werre any Wellington NZ users out there that maybe near the Karori Cemetery?
I am after a photo of the grave of Royd Garlick. Buried 4/3/1915, section CH ENG2, Plot 61C, record no 64926.
If anyone could help me out I would be grateful.
Thanks
Liesl

Has this been sorted yet? I am heading down that way in the next few weeks and might have time to race in and take a photo.
It has not been sorted as yet. Please do not go out of your way, but if you have the time I would appreciate the photo.
I will PM you my email address.
Thank you very much Chisel.

Just this week I asked a voluteer at Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness - New Zealand, to get me some pics at Karori and she had them to me in just a few days. The website is at raogk.org/newzealand.htm (put www. in front) and I used Annmarie, 3rd from the bottom
Thanks for the link BonnieLynne!
Chisel - I will contact these people first. Thank you for your offer.
Kind regards
Liesl
Thanks all. I have the photo!

Site looks interesting - is there a way of seeing all the countries that are represented? At present I change the NZ to Aus or Eng to get the country that I'm after - There must be a better way.
Just a postscript to this tread:
The grave has finally been found - it was completely covered in ivy!, the lovely person I contacted has cleared away the ivy and I have some photo's that have given me information I didn't have before.
Chisel - I don't think you would have found it on a quick visit, the person I contacted actually walked past it a number of times until she stopped and started to clear the ivy.!
I very much appreciate the thought.

Thanks CanadianCousin for the link.
Liesl, as it turns out I under estimated how long it would take to move my daughter into her uni flat. So fortunate for us both that somebody local was able to help.
As happens I asked another random person to find an plaque on the wall where you leave the ashes. He couldn't find them but a quick call to the cemetery cleared up the mystery.
My wifes gt grandmother was cremated and nobody bothered to pick up the ashes. Now she's interned in a communal vault.
B..dy useless husband and children. :nono:- better not happen to me or I'm be back to do some haunting.:001_9898:

Chisel,
I feel the same way! I certainly don't want to be covered in ivy for years to come! I don't have any children so I may have to hitch a ride with my brother and his family (one day) so I get noticed occasionally! I was at my Aunt and Uncles wedding anniversary a couple of weeks ago talking with their church minister about the very same topic, it must have struck a chord with him because I was told he used it in his sermon the very next day!
