I thought it was interesting to note that both familes have a 10 year old born in Cornwall.

From the MI above you see that John died at Wadhurst. They must have been performing here somewhere?

I had a quick look on the 1901 and found

Albert Clowes 18 Middx Hownslow Surrey Cobham Musician
Edward Clowes 28 London Hammersmith Surrey Cobham Musician
Harriett Clowes 27 Pandy South Wales Surrey Cobham Actress
John Clowes 55 Lancs Manchester Surrey Cobham Travelling Showman
Mary Clowes 24 Somerset Martock Surrey Cobham Actress

I can't find anything about the family on the internet, but perhaps a quick scout of the local papers for July 1904 might shed some (free) light on this one?

will have to locate the actual grave and see if it has any interesting pictures on it.

1904
In order to raise funds for the erection of the parish hall, a grand bazaar and country fair was held in the market hall and in the field adjoining. There were many stalls and sideshows - including six pierrots, with Mr Knight at an american organ, hoop-la , run by Mr H Boorman, and a shooting gallery, run by Mr M Watts. There was also a coconut shy, a palmist and donkey ride.
Oxer £300 was raised from an effort which had taken many months of preparation.
