Hi there, I have been trying to print off my family tree, I have tried printing from FTM 2009 which although the tree isn't that large by some standards it comes off on dozens of A4 pages!
So I tried printing my Family view from Ancestry and it won't print off all the pages!I have tried changing print settings but it will still only print the page I am viewing!
Is it my PC/printer or is it something I am doing wrong?
I am trying to print a copy for an elderly relative who does not use computers.
Any suggestions?
Pam.

Your relative will welcome large print and keep it simply to those people she might be interested in.
I don't know what software you are using, but many programs allow you to print in a narrative (more interesting) fashion, explaining who is what relation to whom without all those space-wasting chart lines and spaces
Another idea is to put the simple facts in one chart and all the interesting notes (who did what when, why and how) in a seperate file or files.
Legacy and Generations let you print "descendant" and "ancestor" lists including just as much detail as you wish.
An even better idea is a "live tree". Here you get more detail by clicking on the things that interest you.

There is always Genealogy Printers who will do the job for you at a very reasonable cost and save you all that hassle.
I took hours and hours to print off my very small(by others' standards) tree and then had to work out the pages and paste them onto a huge sheet of paper. The print is too small to read without a magnifying glass.
If it is for an elderly relative then a one-page tree of manageable size would be so easy to read and enjoy. Marie

Hi thanks for your replies, think I may have sorted it! After playing around with it for a while, don't ask me exactly how, more luck than skill!Pam.
