I am researching the ELLEN family in the Shaftesbury area during the 1700's and would like advice on how to obtain details on baptisms at the Mustons Lane-Independent Church before 1800. I have found details from 1800 at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~hughwallis/IGIBatchNumbers/Query/IGIBatchQuery.htm#PageTitle but on contacting them by email they are unable to assist further. If anybody can assist I would be most grateful

The registers are most probably at the National Archives (the catalogue is broken at the moment so I can't check). These would be free to view if you go there in person.

You may be able to obtain a filmed copy through the Mormons (fee payable)

These registers have been digitised and are available online at a site called bmdregisters (pay as you go).
