Hi Folks

Thanks to some great help from Peter Goodey and to the Oxford Family History Society Parish Register transcripts for Newnham Murren on CD Rom, I know that my 5 x great grandfather was John Goody (surname sometime spelled Goodey) who married Martha Taylor in Newnham Murren on 20 Oct 1734.

John and Martha Goody's first 3 children were baptised in Crowmarsh Gifford 1735, 1737 and 1739.
I also found a Richard Goody and his wife Ann Evans who were also married in Newnham Murren on 28 Nov 1730, having children baptised from 1732 onwards in Crowmarsh Gifford.
Richard Goodey may be a brother of John.

I have searched the Oxford Parish Register transcripts (on CD Rom) for South Oxfordshire and Wallingford, vol. 2 & 3 in each case, which cover the general area in which the Goody family lived, without being able to find a baptism for either John Goody, Mary Taylor, Richard Goody or Ann Evans.

Any help to enable me to discover when John and Richard Goody, and their wives were born/baptised and who their parents might have been would greatly appreciated.

Best wishes

Richard
