After further research I am confused about some dates from Census records
In 1841 it shows
Malcolm Macaulay 40
Isabella Macaulay 35
Malcolm Macaulay 56
Bell Macaulay 52
Annabella 22 married to John Maclennan 26
John Maclennan 64
Annabella Maclennan 60
1861 and 1871 I can find nothing on Annabella and john
I have tried Mclennan, Maclennan, Annie, Bella, Annabella
Are the cencus records not yet conclusive

You maybe have this already - SP seem to have 2 Anabella (spelt with 1 n) Maclennans in Uig near Stornoway in 1871 age 44 - 46.
and 1 Anabella Maclennan in Lochcarron ( on the mainland so not that near) in 1861
Will see if I spot any others.

Do you know if your Macaulays come from the Isle of Lewis?

Yes, they come from Stornoway!!
Annabella MAcaulay married a Maclennan
Her parents were Malcolm and Isabella Macaulay - I think
In family search there is reference to Annabella and John Maclennan and their children and seperately her birth and her parents!!
