I am researching my REA ancestors. William REA and his wife Ann(SPARKES) lived in Clerkenwell in the mid 1800's. William was a print compositor and was born in 1806 and died in 1866. His son Henry (born 1841) is my direct line and then Albert George (born 1881).

Is there any researcher with information on Reas in this vicinity; I am particularly interested in finding William's parents and his place of birth.

Thanks,
Andrew

"William was a print compositor and was born in 1806 and died in 1866"

The 1961 census shows him as 53 ie born in 1807-8 in "Southwick, Surrey". This looks as if it should be Southwark. But his wife was born in Horndean, Hampshire so I'd suspect that Southwick, Hampshire is also a possibility (Southwick and Horndean are only half a dozen miles apart).

Hope this helps.

Have you identified them on any censuses?

1881 is available free at the LDS site and I am, sure that postings here or elsewhere could elicit lookups.

Happy hunting
