I try not to go into a supermarket if I can avoid it...however sometimes ya just have to. In the last month I have been twice. After leaving the checkout till pulled over to the side with my trolley(( ya have to do that because theres always some idiot pushing their trolley into your ankles and huffing and puffing and trying to hurry you up.. why do they do that sooo ignorant))) anyway I'm checking my receipt and I have been overcharged on both occasions.
So then ya have to traipse to the customer service counter and queue for half an hour finally get to the assistant (( she was quite nice )) and she has to use that micophone thingymabub for someone to come to the desk have it explained and then they slowly walk off to find the shelf that has the wrong price listed. That takes about 10 minutes because she meets someone she knows and has a little chat. Finally comes back to that nice assistant and she is able to refund my £2.21. That was M|rant|

Same problem with T but for £1.69.|rant|

Moral...always check ya till receipt that is if ya can walk after having ya ankles rammed.......

Thats my Sunday Morning Moan.... off to our daughters now for lunch and a cuddle with 9 week old Billie Ann|hug|

Here in South Aus it's worthwhile being overcharged due to an incorrectly coded price - you get the cash back, and the item for free.

As you said, check the receipt!

You have to check the shelf prices as well these days - I usually go to Sa******ys and they are trying to show you that their price is the same as the Te**os supermarket down the road. It is - BUT a few weeks back it was half that price. I buy Gold Blend coffee - 200gm jars were £6 for 2 - when 'price matched' with Te**os they were £5.97 EACH. Same with many other products.

I found Tesco doing a price comparison on a Texco own brand product with 'the same' product in another store, it's the first I've heard of anyone else selling Tesco own brand products|biggrin|

I have to say that I like my supermarkets as I do not have time or patience to go shopping everyday for food. However I go to a range shops of S***ys to L*l and A*i I want value for money but dont go to all of these every week.
If I was at home all day I would possibly shop differently but in this day an age people shop for ease, convenience and price.
I am all into supporting local butchers though.
