I have all of the christening records (10 children) of Peter and Ann Heenan from 1845 to 1868 all in Old Monkland, Lanark. On the 1851 and 1861 census, Peter and Ann both state they were born in Ireland. Peter gave his age as 36 and 50; and Ann gave her age as 24 and 35. On the children's christening records, Ann's last name is given as McGourlick, Gourlay,Goldie, McGouldrick. I'm sure the christening records are the right children as they are all on either one of the census records. Another quandry is that the date and place of marriage for the parents are also different on the christening records. One says 1843, Ulgt, Airdrie; one 1842 November, Airdire; one 1843 Chapelhale; the rest, unfortunately, don't say. Scotland's People didn't have a marriage in any of those places. Any help or suggestions, welcomed. Thank you.
