William Linnell born 1771 Northamptonshire

I am seeking any further information regarding William Linnell (born 1771 Northamptonshire). I know that he married a Mary Geary and they had several children including Mary Linnell who was born in Buckinghamshire in 1835.

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure he was born 1771 as if the daughter Mary was born in 1835 that would make him 64 years old, not inpossible I know but a bit iffy, only possible if he had a young wife, how old was Mary Geary, what year was she born.

Thank you Sandy. My mistake - Mary Linnell (his daughter) was born in 1808, Feney Stratford, Buckinghamshire (that sounds better). Mary Linnell married Edward Adey in (my great great grandfather) in 1835. I have no information regarding Mary Geary wife of William Linnell.

John Adey, do you know if there are any Abraham Linnell's in your tree?
I descendent from an Abraham Linnell, born abt 1798 in Litchbourgh (sp) in Northampshire, his wife was Alice born abt 1800 in Priors Marston, Warkwickshire, his son Robert was born abt 1841 in Priors Martson, this robert married an Elizabeth Hill (Hall) they later went to South Africa then to New Zealand.

Why do you think William was born in Northants?? If I have the correct family - in the 1841 census of Fenny Stratford (HO107/56/4, folio 15, page 24) - William states that he was born in Buckinghamshire whereas wife Mary states that she was not.

I don't think that either of the William LINNELLs Sue found for you in Northants are likely to be your William as according to the Northants Marriage Index there is a marriage at Whittlebury on 27 Nov 1790 for a William LINNELL of Silverstone (next door to Whittlebury) and an Elizabeth ELLIOTT of Luffield Abbey by licence plus one at Kislingbury on 22 October 1792 of a William LINNELL and a Mary CLARK, both of the parish.

If I do have the correct family in the 1841 census, there is an extracted baptism on Hugh Wallis's IGI site of a William LINNELL on 25 May 1777 at Fenny Stratford, father William mother Esther. Is your Mary LINNELL who married Edward ADEY the extracted baptism on the IGI on 9 March 1808 at Buckingham?? If so, two other siblings are shown: an Esther (could be significant as the mother of the William baptised in Fenny Stratford was an Esther) and an Elizabeth whose birthdate fits in with the one shown in the 1841 census record above.
