I am trying to find a date / year for a Knighthood bestowed by Eliz I between 1572 & 1578.

Does anyone know of a source of such information.

Already scoured every inch of that site - chap I'm looking for is there on many occasions, but not the date of knighthood.

Sir Richard Pipe aka Pype, Lord mayor of London knighted after 1572 and before 11th Feb 1579

Yes, I have that too. There are several who were not knighted prior to becoming Lord Mayor. It was not a prerequisite.

The first ref that I have for him as a Knight is Feb 11th 1579, and then Mar 26th 1579. He was an Alderman from 1570-87, and Sheriff for 1572-73, but prior to 1579 is always referred to without the title, so I assume that the Knighthood was 1578 or early 1579, but can't find it.
