I stuck this in here because it seems the most logical place (to me, it does)...

If anyone should come across WW1 medal sets for CR ENFIELD Rif BRig. and WG ENFIELD West Sussex / Essex Regmt.....I would be grateful if they would contact me, as I wish to negotiate the purchase of the items.

The two persons mentioned are my Great Uncle and Grandfather....the medals were given to me by my Grandfather, but unfortunately they were stolen in the late 60's/early 70's in a burglary.

Information has recently come to light which suggests they were sold to a pawnbroker in Colchester shortly after the theft.

I appreciate someone may have then 'legitimately' purchased them, however, I would hope that they recognise the significance of them.

I can provide 'proof of ownership' if required.

I can't help directly, but you might also try posting details on the medal tracker maintained by 'Medal News'

Good luck
