While shopping this morning, I walked past a book shop with 'eyes left' purely out of respect for the shop, I was literally dragged back by the eyeballs when my brain kicked in & shouted that I'd seen SURREY in large letters on a book table outside the shop.
Well ofcourse I stopped & picked it up from the table, it was just a mass of old photographs of Surrey from here to there! From 'the Judges Postcard Collection" it seems & I haven't yet looked all through it. Ist glance was enough for me to purchase said book. 128 pages of bliss are to be mine when the days' stuff is done. Some real gems herein.
Wish you-all could see.:D
Later, couldn't get on before, token expired, have seen all.. from Abinger Hammer to Woking ,Wotton. mmmmmm. Learned alot. Beautiful even tho' not in colour.
Posted herebecause Chatter has used up all tokens.I'm sure Mods darlings will sort me out.:D

Later, couldn't get on before, token expired <snip>........... Chatter has used up all tokens
Presumably you mean the "security token" thingy Wendy? Do you leave yourself logged in all the time? Do you have the "keep me logged in" thingy ticked?
Whether you are on General Chatter or any other forum section should not affect the token - it is more likely to be down to length of time logged in.
Mark
Edit: Ah yes - you are in Oz. So probably the good old server update thing causing that. If you log out and back in after the server fails to respond for the few minutes, you should be fine ;)

Thanks for the move Procat.
Mark, I'm always logged in by dint of not logging out.
Couldn't find a "keep me logged in" thingy tho'.
This 'Token expired' has happpened quite often tho' not usually so late in our afternoon. I'd had probs with another thread & just kept submitting, in the end it sighed & let me in. Had to leave then to do meals preps so did a 'copy/paste to notebook & came back later.
Lovely to get an idea of Surrey & changes in 100 yrs. Some places I felt as tho' I'd walked along 'that' path.("Goldaming" ) Not even anywhere near where known rellies lived. Perhaps I was a "Surrey" person in a past life.:)

Hi Waitabit
Can you give Author and ID # of book - perhaps we can order a copy in if it's not too old.
Would love to see it especially as I am now finding my Franklin links are mainly from Surrey.
Cheers from WA

Can do Stacey, but must check with Bo, to see if it's ok. I didn't see it on Parish Chest but they have some others in the Book Shop.

I know this thread has already been moved once, but wouldn't it reach those most likely to be interested in it if it was put in the Surrey County Forum?
It could also go in the Recommended Books forum.
When I have recommended books here, I have given the full details - Title, author, publisher, ISBN number. I think what Bo does not want is someone saying "You can get this book from so-and-so".
