Hi All |wave|
This is proof this site works and all you need to do, if you get stuck is... ask. Thanks to members on here i have made contact with a family member in the U.S.A. that i did not even know i had. We have sent emails to each other and spoken on the phone a few times. I have learned a lot about my family, and through this person been told i have other members of the family i knew nothing about. I have also learned many things i should have known but did not know about. I just wanted to come here and let others know this site does work, so never give up hope, and to say a big thankyou to the people on here that have helped me.
THANK YOU All |jumphappy

Hi Ron

That is really great to know.

The 'closest' living relative that I have found since researching is a cousin ??? times removed who is grandson of the brother of my gt grandmother. I found a letter that he had posted on his website from our 5x gt grandfather..I think... and I recognised the address on it. We shared lots of photos. He had loads of my gt grandparents which was really fantastic.

I'm so happy for you. It really is great to find family you never knew about, as I know from personal experience. What is truly amazing is how much you can find out and how it just gives you that extra push, to find out more.

On Wednesday I'm actually getting to meet a second cousin I never knew about, also a half sister of my paternal grandmother who has reached the grand old age of 98. I do hope that she can fill in some of the gaps.
