I have a very old book, title - James Braithwaite, author W.H.G. Kingston. It was presented to my father, Xmas 1919, from Mi?s (it's hard to figure if the 3rd letter is an f or g or j) Evans, Maesyllan or Maesyllin. The publisher is Henry Frowde and Hodder & Stoughton. Does anyone have an explanation for the spelling Mifs? Could it mean Mrs or Miss? Is Maesyllan or Maesyllin a name for a place like a school? My father was 12 years old Dec. 20,1919 and perhaps it was a combined birthday/christmas present. My father was born in Llanfyllin. What is your thoughts?
