If anyone is looking for a particular church in Herefordshire, then try this

http://www.herefordshirechurches.co.uk

It's my own site (set up after a suggestion by someone on B-G) and will be added to on a regular basis.

Terrific job Bitkin! I have been to Hereford Cathedral which was beautiful and I do have some photos of it. I shall have to have another look in my trip albums for it. Well done!

I've changed the title of this thread to 'Church Images' as other similar resources exist for other counties. Please add to this thread with any other free access sites with church images.

I'll add two:

Norfolk (http://www.norfolkchurches.co.uk/mainpage.htm) - presently has 800 churches included

Suffolk (http://www.suffolkchurches.co.uk/churchlists.htm) - presently has 654 churches included

Also worth trying is http://www.geograph.org.uk/

It is not specifically about churches but inevitably there are plenty of them. This is a co-operative venture that we can all contribute to.

This is worth checking out for Hampshire:

Not just pictures but should be useful.

How fantastic!!

V. wells, I have yet to do Hereford Cathedral (and also about a dozen outlying villages), but hope that every single one will be on there by the end of the Summer.

As I said when this was first mooted, the "Churches of Britain and Ireland" site covers the whole country and "Roughwood British Churches" has East Sussex (573), West Sussex (208), and Kent (155). As many churches began in corrugated iron buildings, the "Tin Tabernacles" site may also be of interest. Googling for the phrases in quotes will find the above sites, each of which has more links.

Chris, those sites are fantastic but I also think that the smaller, personal sites for individual counties have their value in that people can ask for specific photos to be taken of graves for example, or of plaques on the walls.
