It seems that the National Archive is proposing to make some changes in access to reading rooms and some documents. Follow this link (http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/news/stories/325.htm?WT.hp=nf-37377) to read about them:

They were planning 2 public meetings (one of which has already happened) - presumably to allow for public consultation.
Anyway, I am posting this for information rather than comment!

Hi Sue,

Tis easy. :)

Copy the url from the page you wish to link to.

Hold down left button on mouse (assuming you have a normal mouse for a right handed person) and drag over the words in your post that you want to place the link in. This should then be high lited.

Click on the symbol that looks like a globe of the earth with a "link" on it - just above the area you typed your post in.

Paste the url you previously copied into the box that appears and click OK.

There's this angrygram in one of today's papers that may be of interest. Scroll about half way down the page to "National Archives in peril"

It's the Telegraph so don't bother to read the other letters :D :D :D

I'd say a 10% staff cut is not trivial. Have you seen the official Q & A?
