Julia Richards died on August 7th 1879 at the Prestwich Asylum. I have looked at the microfilm of St Mary's Church, Prestwich, but that year was missing. Anyone know why and if not any ideas on where she might have been buried.

Her brother moved to Manchester from Yorkshire, which is where she was living until 1871. She clearly had some problems and moved to live with her brother. She was committed twice to Prestwich and at the time of her death brother and family were in Salford. Her stay was charged to Salford workhouse, which is where she was when committed the final time. She really was crazy. I just wondered why there were no burials at St Mary's for that year. Many who died in the asylum were buried at St Mary's from 1854- 1994, or so reads the gravestone.

If a year has gone missing from the parish registers, it's worth trying the Bishop's Transcript (or vice versa). The Mormons appear to have filmed both,
