HI there, think you have the right family, noted on 1911 census Florence and Percy had a daughter Mary Florence Johnson 4 mths, because the name you came up with has Mary as Florence mum..makes sense she would call her daughter Mary.Infant Mary didnt survive, died within a year of that census. cheers Val

Had contact from a member of Ancestory.com, seems we are on the right track with William the blacksmith, he married Mary Ann Lowe, that is as far as the other member has got, he knows Williams father was Ephraim Jackson who was shown as a shoemaker on Williams birth cert but has spent 15 yrs getting no further back than that, William had a sister Annie. he apparently had siblings who appear to have been in a Cheshire workhouse

Hi, As the thread I was about toreply to has been closed I hope that this might be Ok.

Free BMD gives two possible births for Percy Johnson
Mar 1885 Salford 8d 39
Mar 1886 Salford 8d 175

Wilfred
Mar 1896 Salford 8d 139

May
Jun 1898 Salford 8d 47

The birth certificate should give the mother's maiden name

Thanks for your interest, I think maybe a birth cert is the only way to find a little info, prob be easier to get Wilfred or May's, I have a feeling that maybe they had a different father to percy.
