I'm new to the forum, (see introductions) and am not sure whether this has been mentioned before.
I have set up an information resource on Army Service Numbers 1881-1918 which attempts to assist researchers in ascertaining, from regimental numbers, when a soldier joined a particular British regiment. The scope of the project is huge of course, but I have been updating the site regularly and will be happy to try and answer any queries relating to British Army enlistments and dates of joining, during this period.
