I am looking for any information about John Batty, listed in the 1901 census in Barley Hole, aged 9.Eve, what would you like to know? Are you looking for more information on John BATTY's family in earlier years?
If so, I can see them on the 1891 census living in a 4-room dwelling at 227 Barley Hole:

Batty, John 33 Dukinfield, Cheshire Head Wentworth Yorkshire Blacksmith
Batty, Mary 31 Dukinfield, Cheshire Wife Wentworth Yorkshire
Batty, Joseph 6 Wentworth, Yorkshire Son Wentworth Yorkshire Scholar
Batty, Mary A 5 Wentworth, Yorkshire Daughter Wentworth Yorkshire Scholar
Batty, Alice 2 Wentworth, Yorkshire Daughter Wentworth Yorkshire
Batty, William 1 Wentworth, Yorkshire Son Wentworth Yorkshire
Source information: RG12/3854
Registration district: Rotherham
Sub registration district: Wath
ED, institution, or vessel: 6
Folio: 120
Page: 25
Hope this helps...

Eve, if you check the 1881 census [www.familysearch.org], you'll see that John BATTY Sr., is 23 years old and a lodger in Wentworth, Yorkshire with a family named HAGUE. His occupation is given as blacksmith.
Unfortunately, I don't see him on the 1871 census either in Cheshire or Yorkshire...

Hi Trish,
Thanks for your interest - I would really like to trace the children and grand-children of this particular John Batty, if there were any. Can you help?
Eve

EveSorry, Eve, I don't have access to many records after 1901 and a quick search of what I do have didn't turn up anything for you.
Good luck with your research.

Hi,
Digressing I am afraid...however, wasn't the former head of Conservative Party (William Hague) from Wentworth? - in reference to the earlier post regarding the Batty's lodging with the Hague's of Wentworth (lovely village)
