Looking for David CROSBIE b 1879.
Married Janet G M Scott in WIgtown, Scotland. 1898.
His mother is named on marriage cert as Ellen CROSBIE (unmarried). Father is unnamed.
On 1881 census a David CROSBIE age 6mnths & Helen CROSBIE age 21 are listed as residents.
Assume if this was the correct family that Ellen (or helen) was abandoned by family.
David is not showing on 1901 census although his wife and daughter are (wigtown). Janet is noted as a bakers wife.
Have tried to find the 1891 census for the poorhouse to find out if they were both still listed there but as yet have not succeeded.
Can anyone help me with info/advice. I am really lost with this one. I have been unable to locate David's birth cert. I would like to see if this is the correct family. I have read the workhouse website but it doesn't say anything about where records would be held (if at all).
