I've come across a James Booth from Scalford Leic travelling with my family in 1871 - RG10 Piece 3292 Folio 36 Page 8. He's with Caroline b 1831 (possibly his wife, although she's described as a lodger) and 2 children James 1865 Claybrook and Thomas 1869, Willoughby.

I've found James again in 1901 - RG13 Piece 3013 Folio 129 Page 13. He's still born in Scalford, but DoB is 1828 and he's described as father in law, but I can't work out who to:confused:

I can't find any trace of him anywhere else, does anyone have any suggestions, please.

Many thnaks

Robert Miller is stated as being the Head

Mary Ann his wife

James Booth Father in Law.

So I would say James is Mary's father.

Thanks for that Sue, I'll try following that one up and see where it leads. The name Miller isn't one I've come across until now, it's all been Smith, Boswell etc.

Hmm, thanks for that Ann. I rather suspect right now, that following this lead will end up taking me off down another route as I can't find a link with my lot, so I think I'll put them on the back burner for now, but hopefully the info will be of use to someone else on here.
