My husband's great'grandmother Betsy/Bridget Flynn, born c1841, Dundee.
I am hoping that the lady I keep encountering with these names is one and the same person!

There is an IGI baptismal enrty:-

Bridget Flinn daughter of John Flinn & Margaret Borris 16 July 1838 St Andrews Roman Catholic, Dundee

Have you tried looking for the birth/baptism yourself on scotlandspeople.gov.uk?
You may be able to view the original record online. It only costs a small amount & may give you valuable information that is not in the IGI record - eg place of residence, father's occupation, godparents.

Thank you, jeeb. That is certainly a possibility as my mother-in-law was a Roman Catholic.
