marriage look up please Aitkin/Ritson

Ive been trying for ages to find a marriage of William Aitkin b1835c either in Maryport or Liverpool and Eleanor Ritson b 1835c Cumbria , i sent for a certificate of a possiable marriage in 1860 in Cockermouth but not the right one and I cant seem to be able to find any marriages for these two names,
any help appreciated .

Just checking the census. Their first son, Henry was born about 1859, but I can't find a marriage entry either on Free BMD or Family Search. Of course, there is always the possibility that they didn't marry.

I am now wondering also if they ever got married. I have them in 1881 with children including Henry you mentioned also have her death cert which she is named Aitkin, also a bith cert for a son William with father named William Aitkin and mother Eleanor Aitkin formerly Ritson so dont really know what to think , but no way can i find the marriage.
