Hello everyone,due to the economic climate i can no longer afford to buy certificates.,and I am hoping someone will be able to find a marriage for me.William Henry Holmes b1843 Derbyshire,in the 1891 census aged 48 was living with a Janet A aged 26.Then ifound on freereg three children Rachel Ann b 1897 and William Lambert 1893 and Albert Henry 1891.They were registered at HolyTrinity Lenton,and from that i found the mothers name was Jenette Amelia.Ireally don't know where to go from here.Grateful thanks in advance.Hazel|

There is a marriage of a William Holmes and on the same page there is a Jennett Amelia Gilvear, Nottingham 1888 7b 316.

I found this 1881 census, it was the Lambert name that caught my eye.
38 Kings Meadow Road, Nottingham.

Bumblebee a big thanks.I cannot believe how such info can get me as far back as the late 18th century,in just a couple clicks of a mouse on Family org site.Amazing.I had heard a story of one of our ancestors fled from the French Revolution,tentative at best.But this is going to be interesting search.Again thankyou.Hazel

Well so much for the french connection.On further investigation the Gilvears are from scotland,another family myth blown from the water.No wonder i think i am going mad.Thankyou Janbooth a lot more to be going on with,that sorts out more visits to the archives for the forseeable future.

Sorry, I have just noticed a typo in my last message - should read it through more carefully. The father of Margaret Maud Hooper GILVEAR should read Lambert - sorry about that.
