Hi

Am just starting out with tracing my Ancestors WW1 military career.

I know that My GT Grandfather William James Coulter used two Regiment no's 2429 and 200713 and that stated his service in the Gordan Highlanders and then spent a time with the 2/5 West Yorkshire Regiment.

Have found him under his adopted name of William Evans in the Medals Rolls Index cards 1914/1920, however i'm not sure how to decipher the info given or if I can research this any further - details given are as follows - 0/2/104 b.32 page 3892.

He was born 15/09/1880

Your thoughts would be appreciated

Hi Lise,

This is an excellent site (http://www.1914-1918.net/) about researching WWI British soldiers.
