Can anyone advise me on how I can obtain baptism information please? I have my dad’s birthdate as 19/12/1907, born Liverpool (this information is from his death certificate) but when I check birth records for the last quarter of 1907 and 1st quarter of 1908 there are no matches. The closest I have got is a birth date of 15/12/1907, this certificate has other information on which I know is correct i.e. his fathers full name.
I am new to this so any help would be great, thank you.

Hi! |wave| Welcome to the forum. :)
I'm afraid that, even with an exact date of birth, it is difficult to find a 20thC baptism. There are few indexes that go that late, so you would need to look through all the registers for the Everton area & hope to find it. The registers are held at Liverpool Records Library & may be available to hire at Family History sites run by the Church of Latterday Saints - then you can search through them yourself. It may take many hours of searching, so you would have to be prepared to do it yourself.
If you do find it, the baptism may well have less information on it than the certificate you already have. Few C of E registers even name the godparents.

What is it you are trying to discover from the baptism record? If the birth certificate gives you facts you know are accurate the baptism record will only confirm what you already know. Are you trying to trace the family further back- if you give us more detail we may be able to help.

Do you mean he doesn't appear in the General Record Office indexes of births for the two quarters? Was he adopted, in which case he would have another birth name? It is not unknown for births to be registered with the wrong date given - sometimes a month out as this would prevent a fine! - or simple error. Do you have more information? His full name? His parent's names? He should appear in the 1911 census, which may help.

Just ask, and it shall be done. :)
