Spoil-sport! I was quite happy to envisage it as someone employed in one of Liverpool's famed jam butty mines :-)

[If you don't remember the mines, think of Ken Dodd and his Diddy Men.
You may also recall the broken biscuit repair factory which provided much employment in the area.]
