!841 or 1851 census lookup please

Getting desperate to break down my brick wall: seeking census sightings of Louisa COOPER in 1841 or 1851. Late censuses say she was born in Portsmouth or (more frequently) Ryde, Isle of Wight. Date of birth should be 1839 - 1841. No registration found. By 1861 she is in Islington. Eternal thanks to whoever can find her for me!!

If you to the Hampshire Family history society's web page, they have produced an index for the 1851 census. Warning, http://www.british-genealogy.com/forums/images/icons/icon4.gif as I know to my cost it's not complete they have missed some area's on the films they produced it from.
The index's will only give you which Parishes names appear in. You'll then have to get the parish you think they were living in.

The Isle of Wight Family History Society have a web site. They are building a searchable database for births, marriages and deaths for the island (from information provided by the Isle of Wight Registrar's Office) which is on the site, and they have a help section and a list of member's interests. You might find something which could help prove (or disprove!) whether Louisa came from the Island :confused:
