Sue - great news that England is now complete on the 1911 census site, but like yourself I will be even more pleased when Wales is complete. Any idea when that will be? :)

Unfortunately Olliepolly, I dont think it will be anytime soon, FMP have the rights until the transcription is completed by them, then they have to allow other companies access to transcribe themselves.

I believe FMP have the sole licence for 12 months after the transcription is complete. :(

ollie, I found that if I purchased the largest amount of credits and used them wisely, I have been able to make them last quite a while. The quality of the transcripts and the originals are superior to any on A* which I also have a sub for. Instead of searching for individual areas in the London area, just put in London. I have also printed out pages of transcript lists when they are more than a page. I compare these names to what I have on my tree and pick what I need an original for and who can do with just a transcript.

Correction to my own post. :o
The SoG Newspage (http://www.sog.org.uk/latest.shtml) says the exclusive licence is for 6 months (not 12). Not quite so long to wait. ;)

Only another 13 years until the 1921 is out.
|idea| It won't be that long before I will be able to find myself on one |book2|

The Welsh counties have the added problem that a lot of the household schedules were filled in in Welsh.
theywere actually printed using either Welsh or English and then depending on which language was asked for the appropriate form was issued.
The Association of Family History societies of Wales is preparing a kind of crib-sheet with the english/welsh translations of the column headings because the transcription rules are that it must accurately copy what is on the page so if your ancestor wrote their schedule in Welsh then that's how it will be transcribed.
The counties will appear in piece number order so Monmouthshire should be the first one and they are hoping to be ready by the Autumn.

I think Monmouthshire will be ready by Autumn and the rest will follow.

I didn't realise that "a large number" that may be "as many as several thousand" of suffragettes refused to fill in the form. Some at least are recorded as having refused and these will have a relevant protest statement. Has anyone come across one yet?
Unfortunately those that simply stayed out of the house overnight were not recorded.

Hi
If your ancestor was drunk and fell down in a field on his way home on census night and only arrived back home very muddy the following morning with a huge hangover then he wont be enumerated at the household and maybe even not enumerated at all.

it must accurately copy what is on the page so if your ancestor wrote their schedule in Welsh then that's how it will be transcribed.
That should be fun - and make for interesting |banghead| reading.
