Emigrated to New Jersey

In 1884-1886 Mabel Brown was born in New Jersey, so says the 1901 UK census.
In 1881 her mother, Sarah Ann Hoggins, was an 18 year old servant in Manchester UK. I can't find the family on the UK 1891 census, perhaps they were still in the USA?

I am seeking help as to ...

1) When did Sarah Ann Hoggins (now Brown) emigrate to the USA?

2) Where was Mabel Brown born?

3) When did the family returned to the UK?

1) Was Sarah Hoggins married to Brown when she went to NJ? There are a number of possible Sarah Browns on ship lists, so if they were together it would help to have his name and any known information about him.

2) The LDS library catalog lists an 1885 NJ state census. I don't know if any of it has been indexed. It would be quite a job to tackle it if not! You could do some checking, and ask, on the US Gen Web pages for NJ and on NJ message boards. Sometimes an index will have been compiled for a county or metropolitan area. There seem to be some partial transcriptions posted on the web.
