Born Dublin 1911

Does anyone have any suggestions?

All I have is Albert Edward (Joseph) Fowler born March 21, 1911. Came to Canada from Dublin in 1925. Had a brother Herbert. He was Catholic and Joseph was his catholic name!

No other information. What are the chances of finding a birth record.

I cannot see a record on the Irish Family History Foundation search site. (you need to google it, as it is pay per view but you can search the index free)
Fowler is not that common a surname in Ireland. There are only 16 matches for births 1907 - 1915, mainly in Tyrone but not an Albert or Herbert.

Have you tried the 1911 Dublin census (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/), he may have just made it (I am not sure of the actual date it was taken) or Herbert may be there if he is older.

Have you also tried the Pilot site for the IGI (http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=collectionDetails;t=searchable;c=1408 347http://), they have quite a few Irish births though it is hard to search.

Did a quick search for Fowler in all counties up to age 9 in 1911, nothing!

They may have left from Dublin but that doesn't mean they lived there!


There are only a few counties covered by the online records to date.
