WALKER FAMILY - MOLLINGTON BANASTRE

I am trying to get information about Mollington Banstre. My mother worked there in the 1950s.
I have photos of her with my aunt and who I believe to be one of the walker gentlemen.

Any info appreciated

Hello Cheryl,

Mollington Bastastre House was apparently built in 1853 and is now part of the Best Western hotel chain.

However, on Access to Archives I did find some reference to it (http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/a2a/records.aspx?cat=125-zwkg&cid=11#11), with a note that the papers were kept at the Bolton Archives and Local Study Centre (http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/archon/searches/locresult_details.asp?LR=125). It may be worth contacting them to see if they are able to help.

I celebrated my wedding anniversary at this hotel, not sure which one, but it must be quite a while ago as we had our toddler son in tow.

I remember - Deep Fried Brie with Sage Jelly, which I am still addicted too, AND my son announcing at breakfast, very loudly, "Mum, I need a Pooh :o"

Fond memories, very nice hotel.
