Forgive my ignorance but why where they formed or who where they fighting, what peace is it they mention?

The Loyal Macleod or Princess Charlotte of Wales's Fencible Regiment existed from 15 June 1798 to 11 June 1802.
The Commander was Colonel John Macleod of Colbeck and they were located in Ireland.
